Frequently Asked Questions for NJB/YBOA

How does the program work?

Hoops of Hope is like a walk-a-thon.  Commit to having your team shoot 1,000 free throws on December 6th in honor of World AIDS Day and to honor the thousands of kids orphaned each day due to HIV/AIDS.  NJB teams can send out your own personal NJB Chapter fundraising site, which you can find on the Sponsor tab. Use this site to allow friends and family to sponsor your team's efforts.  YBOA teams will can create their fundraising page at www.firstgiving.com/hoopsofhope2008.  After your event, a check will be sent to your chapter for 1/2 the amount raised.  The other 1/2 will be used by Hoops of Hope and World Vision to bring relief to AIDS orphans throughout Africa.

How does our team sign up?

Just send an email to participate@hoopsofhope.org and let us know that you'll be doing Hoops of Hope, how many kids are on your team, t-shirt size or grade level and we'll do the rest

How long will it take our team to shoot 1,000 free throws?

It takes the average participant 15 minutes to shoot 100 free throws.  If you only have one hoop, then two can stand at the line at the same time.  It should take your team about 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete the free-throw marathon

Can someone sponsor us by check?
